What are BJDs?
BJDs, or ball-jointed dolls, are, as the name implies, dolls with ball joints. They hold poses with a similar range of motion as that of the human boy. They’re made out of polyurethane resin*, strung with elastic and are sculpted by various artists usually concentrated in Japan, Korea and China. They are completely customizable. For more extensive information, check out BJD WTF.
Are all the dolls featured on this blog yours?
No, they’re not. I just take their pictures! The only dolls that belong to me are Shiori, Viola, Nola, and Fleur. The other dolls belong to the lovely members of Manika Manila, the Philippine BJD community. Who owns who is usually cited in the photo description. For convenience, these dolls are mine and these dolls are not mine!
Can I browse your posts of just a particular doll?
Yes! Please check out the tag directory. :)
Where are your dolls from?
Shiori is an SD Sara from Volks. Viola is an SD Kun from Volks as well. Nola is a Honey Delf Pudding from Luts. Fleur is a Lati Yellow Grown-Up Belle from Latidoll.
Where did you get their shoes/clothes/wigs/eyes?
I have clothes and shoes from Luts, Volks, Dollmore and Nine9Style. I also have clothes made by local seamstresses. Most of the wigs and eyes are from Luts. :) My Lati wig is from Ruby Red Galleria, and her clothes are either made by me or from the DOA Marketplace
What camera do you use?
A Nikon D3000.
What lenses do you use?
A Nikkor 35mm 1.8G and the 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 AF-S kit lens, though I use the former more than the latter nowadays.
What light set-ups do you use?
Diffused natural light, or my SB-600 external flash.
Can I get an invitation to Den of Angels? Why do you have invitations to Den of Angels?
Each registered member of Den of Angels has a weekly allowance of seven invites to send out to people who want to join the forum. I’ll be glad to send you one, just leave me a message in my ask box with the email address you plan to use for your account.
My question isn’t here!
